Outline India partnered with the Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research (AISSR), University of Amsterdam, as a subcontractor on the CitizenGap Project, funded by the European Research Council. The engagement involved reviewing and adapting qualitative and quantitative tools, training field teams, piloting instruments, and conducting focus group discussions and a pre-FGD survey.
Outline India conducted 12 gender-segregated focus group discussions with participants from SC, ST, Muslim, and general caste communities in rural Ajmer, alongside a demographic survey capturing interactions with the state and identity document ownership. The team ensured ethical data collection aligned with GDPR requirements, managed audio recording and transcription, and delivered pseudonymized transcripts, recordings, and raw survey data to support academic analysis on identity documentation and state–citizen relations.
