Job Description

Reporting and working closely with the team at Outline India, the Quantitative Researcher will be engaging primarily in enforcing Quantitative Methodologies and designing and coding Survey Tools on Digital Platforms, Training Field Teams and ensuring field surveys are planned and implemented in a structured manner.

Responsibility:

  • Development and deployment of survey Tools using CAPI programs like survey CTO.
  • Data cleaning.

Qualifications

Essential:

The Senior Qualitative Researcher will closely work on research projects, developing study designs and survey instruments, be conducting fieldwork and writing report. We are looking for someone who has experience in conducting interviews and focus group discussions and is willing to travel across the country for fieldwork.

5 MONTHS (Part Time: Intermittent involvement)


Qualifications

Outline India is looking for an agronomist to assist the research team in an upcoming project. The agronomist would primarily be involved in the soil testing component of the research study. The tentative timeline of the study would be December 2019 – May 2020. 

Please note:  We are not looking for candidates with business development profile or candidates without the required technical skills. We are only looking for candidates who have prior experience in soil testing and pesticide testing. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Background research regarding the study (literature review, reading past reports etc.)
  • Recommend the nature of soil tests and pesticide tests to be conducted in line with the project objectives.
  • Develop a plan of action and rigorous soil sample collecting protocol (for cotton farms in MP) in order to train the field team. 
  • Lead training on how to effectively collect soil samples.
  • Provide guidance on how to package and store the soil samples.
  • You may be required to go to the field site in Madhya Pradesh for 2 phases of the study - Pre-testing (January; ~3 days) and Data Collection (January/February; ~5-7 days). The number of days is tentative and subject to change based on the field plan.
  • Help in identifying soil testing labs in the study districts.
  • Analyze the soil and pesticide test findings and prepare a report.
  • Coordinate with Outline India and their evaluation partner.
  • Regular relay of information and field updates to Outline India during his/her stay on field.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Essential:
  • Master's Degree in Agriculture or any other related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience is required for this position.
  • The candidate should have the technical skills and in-depth knowledge about soil sampling strategy, soil testing, pesticide residue testing, cotton farming, etc.
  • Field experience in soil testing assignments is mandatory.      
Preferred:
  • Previous experience of pesticide residue testing will be preferred.
  •  Experience in assignments pertaining to cotton farming will be given preference
